Chess became the anchor.
The Cognitive Lab became the system.

About Yash Kapadi.
At twelve, Yash found what many parents are desperately seeking for their children today: an antidote to a noisy, distracted world. A chessboard given to him by his father became much more than a game. It became a foundational method for building executive function, emotional control, and strategic judgment.
That experience shaped his life's work. Yash did not pursue chess simply for entertainment or prestige—he utilized it as a framework for mental architecture. As a father himself, he understands firsthand that deep focus can be engineered, resilience can be taught, and high-stakes decision-making can be mastered with deliberate practice.
This discipline is not merely theoretical; it is rigorously pressure-tested. Operating as a FIDE-rated competitor approaching the elite 2000-point threshold, Yash has spent over a decade applying these exact mental models in high-stakes professional arenas. Competing across rigorous international and national circuits, he has proven that these methods are not abstract concepts—they are durable systems designed to withstand intense intellectual pressure.
The Cognitive Lab is not a standard after-school chess club. It was built to turn a personal discipline into a premier institution. It provides ambitious children with exactly what chess gave him: a structured environment to think clearly, act deliberately, and build an unbreakable mind.
This is why our institution operates in three definitive stages:
The Lab diagnoses the cognitive baseline and attention span.
The Institute builds the structural method and discipline.
The Foundry develops the grit and resilience to perform under pressure.
Together, they form one unified pathway—transforming fragmented attention into durable, lifelong mastery.
Mission
The Cognitive Lab exists to turn chess into mental architecture for ambitious learners.
The goal is not entertainment or trophies.
The goal is sharper focus, stronger judgment, and durable performance under pressure.

If you are looking for a place that simply fills an hour, this is NOT that institution.

If you are looking for a disciplined path toward sharper focus, stronger judgment, and durable performance.
